Who Is Connie Talbot?

Who is Connie Talbot?

In my totally unbiased opinion... WHO CARES!?!?!

PFFFFT... My little girl is was cuter more cute...ummm the cuterest... and more talented than Connie Talbot

I even have proof on tape. Not sure where the faux US accent came from and how a 6 year old can do a Richard Nixon impersonation, but it was pretty damn funny and totally unexpected.

And here am I thinking she never pays attention to anything i'm doing... then she goes and mimics word for word the highlights of the skit!

Take a look for yourself:

Mr Mom, Sand Castles and 'One Liners'

Meditation and children being silent are not a symbiotic relationship! The energy transmitted off one far outweighs that of the other so...

I took the kids to the beach where there was a display of sandcastles.

And not your ordinary sandcastles... we're talkin about a full on Jurassic experience... but it cost $30 for the three of us and I only had $20 in my wallet.

Yes attempts were made to pass the kids off as being under four years old, but alas, no joy.

So we went for a walk along the beach and out on the pier.

After peering over the side of the jetty and seeing no fish about my son turned to me and said:

"hey dad, you know that saying 'there are plenty of other fish in the sea'?... curse that saying!"

I can see video ideas coming from my boy in the future! He can finally pay his way :P

Another Day Another page, Another Article... Another Blog

OK, no more talk about food... or more to the point... extreme gorging of food to the brink of bursting!

Went for a run this morning instead.

Just 5 kilometres but it's a start. Didn't time myself, but i'll work on some consistency first. Before we start footy training next year i've been told we'll do a time trial around Albert Park Lake.

That kinda scared me a bit as i'm not really a runner. Was supposed to run the tan with a friend and time it but we never got around to that.

Anyway. Around Albert Park Lake is 5 k's so at least I know i can go the distance. Also the run this morning was hilly and around the lake is flat. Got that one up my sleeve ;)

Then I wrote two articles (have one up my sleeve for tomorrow), another page and obviously.... the blog post:

Absolution - In Reverse

Whoahhhhhh!!!

Another day of eating myself to oblivion! This time at my mum and dad's place.

I was thinking (as I loosened another notch on my belt) that Christmas has really just become another competition.

The guy that eats the most and maintains his jiggly big jelly gets to play Santa next year!

I'm on my way now!

I did a couple of videos about losing belly flat that are on youtube... if I had of been thinking in advance I should have filmed myself before Christmas then played the series in reverse and made a fortune off the diet program!!!

Ah well... another 'best laid plans...' gone the crapper. I'll have to do that video series of "After the Fact" guy (the guy who always comes up with a great idea or retort when it's too late).

Anyway, here's a totally unrelated (to this blog) webpage I just put up:

The Definition Of Famous By Morning

I was writing an article today about whether someone can actually become famous by morning.

The guy I came up with was Paul Potts.

He surprised everyone with his operatic singing skills and won Britain's Got Talent. In the process becoming a celebrity from one performance.

It got me thinking about a couple of things (maybe things a bit foreign to this blog).

First it got me thinking about classical music.

I have previously been reading books on meditation and spirituality. When we think, hear, act out truly beautiful things it is coming from our pure essence, our core... the stillness within that is our being.

The second was about making your own destiny in life.

Paul Potts didn't just "get lucky". He spent 12,000 pounds on singing lessons, been in amatuer opera shows and even went to Italy to study.

He set his own path and realised his dream. He didn't just dream, he worked his dream until it was fulfilled.

Mini Dirt Bikes and a MAXI Belly!!!

Created another page on FamousByMorning. The link is at the bottom.

It's all about mini dirt bikes, but after the last few days that would be the only thing 'mini' about me!

Feels like I've been eating for about 4 days straight and I have another 4 to go...

I dare not weigh myself but by the 'feel' of my belly i'm guessin i've put on about 4 kilograms.

What does that mean?

My dirt bike pants are going to be a bit 'snug' next time my brother and I go for a ride.

Hmmmm... think I might go for a run tomorrow!

Wrapping Presents & Taking Out the Garbage

Well it's Christmas eve so that means preparation for a visit from Santa tonight.

The children have gone to bed (reluctantly), but not after trying to go to sleep on the sofa, leaving cookies and milk out for Santa and even spreading 'reindeer food' on the front lawn!

What did I do?

I took out the garbage and oh... just remembered i'm still to hang the washing (also an excuse to stand and watch the sci-fi channel on cable :P).

And... I created another page on FamousByMorning. The link is below:

More Interesting Ways You Can Become Famous by Morning

And that Evan and Gareth got a job with a TV network doing red carpet interviews, have been in sitcoms and movies?

And they both got their starts from success on Youtube.

17 Ways You Can Become Famous by Morning

I've been listening to an old mp3 recording called 'Hypnotic Publicity' by Joe Vitale and Scott Lewis.

In it Joe offers seventeen ways to promote yourself or your business using free publicity.

As I listen to the tips, everything from:

breaking a record to running for office, start a controversey to making up an award

I can't help but link each tip to video, youtube and some crazy storyline!

Now... what can I use the bluescreen for.... hmmmmm

Bluescreen, Greenscreen We all Scream for...

Well i started the title but lost my train of thought part way through.

I plan to do some chromakey video over the Christmas break you see.

I want to video some people (well myself multiple times) and then compile the images in amongst a crowd at an NFL game.

SO far that's the idea in my head. I use Edius 4 as my editing system (Adobe Premiere prior to that) and I haven't had much experience doing bluescreen on that program.

I have the blue material and a good rigging system to hang it all up on. As long as it is well lit I know the filming side will be ok.

Just a matter of getting the post production work up to scratch.

I'll post a link once I have the video completed.

What Did I Like Filming The Most? - Dirtbikes!!

I have had my camcorder away in storage for a while now.

Need to get it out and video and create something... what used to motivate me the most? What was the most fun to film, edit then see the final product?

Dirtbikes, motocross, supercross... High adrenaline, high energy...

speed...

danger...

thrills...

Not quite as much fun as riding dirtbikes, but capturing them on film was pretty good.

Here's a good video dedicated to freestyle dirtbikes:

Yeah that's right... absolutely free!

The t-shirts do have famousbymorning.com on them but like I said, they are free t-shirts after all.

You don't even have to pay for postage... did i mention they are free t-shirts?

Some designs are cute, some are sexy, some are topical and some are just fun.

Free t-shirts... did I say that already?

No catch, no hidden clauses no.... well... one slight, itty bitty minor easy peezy thing to do... Just watch some videos and tell me which you like the best!

Videos That Made YouTube Famous

Two doofuses lip-synch to bad cartoon music in front of a webcam, and Google drops $1.65 billion for the privilege to host it.

To be fair, the evolution of YouTube has more to it, but that's the basic storyline. YouTube's success lies in its ability to give everyone a chance at sharing original and appropriated video content with the world, free of top-down control:

You, too, can make a video, post it online and become an overnight star.

Of course, YouTube has grown way beyond its humble origins. From its very first video--a brief tour of a zoo, hosted by YouTube co-founder Jawed Karim-- it's become a hotbed of narcissism, a library of obscure television, a natural home for short-form comedy, a propaganda tool, a front in the copyright wars, a microcosm of democracy (and its shortcomings) and the perfect way to waste away an afternoon.

Whether you're into Richard Dawkins or Richard Simmons, YouTube promises endless hours of diversion, voyeurism or workplace productivity decline.

Time To Get Filming Again

Trying to come up with inspiration for another short video...

Done a whole lot of research on video cameras too and have my eye on a particular model.

Another Sony and mini-dv as well. I like the tape format and it still captures the best images.

The big differences for me will be widescreen (16:9) mode and High Definition.

The model I want... A Sony HDR HC9

More On High Definition Camcorders...

I went into my local hi-fi store as they are noted for good deals on electronics, but not a specialist for video cameras so I still do my own research.

I have been thinking about hard disk drive camcorders as my old mini-dv tapes (which were supposed to last forever) seem to jump an skip all over the place.

At least going straight to digital file I can possibly avoid that problem.

The camcorder that caught my eye was the Sony HDR SR11.

60GB of storage space and High Definition recording...

but... still researching

HD Video

I haven't been doing much filming lately, one excuse was that my digital camcorder wasn't good enough.

Most of my stuff ends up in flash format on youtube or the like so just as long as the lighting and audio is good I can make do with my trusty Sony trv-19.

But... if I was to get a new camcorder i've been investigating the new digh definition formats, hard disk drive and dvd camcorders.

What is putting me off HDD and dvd camcorders is that they compress the video (granted it's minimal) but I still like mini-dv and the opportunity to have the best avi files possible on my pc so I can then output it as I want.

Also the new camcorders are very small. I like the feel of a larger camcorder and they are more stable when shooting 'freehand'.

So I am also looking at older 3ccd models.

Will let you know what I come up with. Feel like eating a mandarin now for some reason...

Youtube Video Success - Cute Baby

Over 46 million views and 130,000 + comments, simply titled "Hahaha" is the first of our "cute kids" videos.

This is not the second most viewed youtube video as that is an Avril Lavigne music video. I am focussing on non-commercial video releases and ones that use an obvious gimmick to attract viewers (sexual images or titles)

We all (well most of us) like to laugh and also find babies cute. Once again we have a combination of two favourite aspects of life:

Cute babies and laughing.

How To Make It To The Top On YouTube!

I could re-phrase that to say "How to make it to the top on youtube... without any tricks!"

And what do I mean by tricks?

Many Youtube providers know that they will get 'cheap' views if they put sexual images where the preview images are taken from (quarter points of the video's), if they use sexual or pornographic titles for their videos (even if they have no such content within them).

The group of videos I chose are unique in some way. And that trait has made them top ranking in some aspect of google video.

From most viewed to most discussed, each of these videos has a trait that compells viewers to watch, comment, forward on or a combination.

There are a lot of music video releases from popular stars which I have overlooked in this summary as well as the obvious use of sexuality with images and titles just to gain viewers.

Shocked Accountant Says You Can Make Money With Your Pants Down!

Internet challenge brings about a cheeky response.

“My brother has always been a bit of a larrikin” says accounting firm director Susan Kelley, “So when he came to me with a tax question on money he might make from baring his backside on national TV, I was somewhat amused… then a little concerned. He’s the sort of guy who would do exactly that!

She is referring to a challenge issued by a website (www.famousbymorning.com). Basically you can win money by having the website name featured prominently and creatively on a large media source. It’s attracting the attention of those with a competitive spirit and a desire to get their name remembered. But that’s not all…

“A lot of interest has been centered around peoples backsides” laughed Mark Lewis of Famous By Morning. “It was not my intention when I put up the challenge, but it seems to have fascinated the exhibitionist in a lot of people, but it’s all in good fun”.

Lewis registered the site name and put it online mid 2007 and it seems he’s not the only one with a sense of the cheeky. The site is currently receiving a surge of interest to the tune of 500 hits a day and growing.

“People are using the site to laugh, wind down and relax after a stressful day’s work,” explains Lewis, “it’s about taking the best of youtube and my own filming and giving people some good clean light entertainment. Nothing too heavy, just a way to, if only briefly, escape from the pressures of the daily grind.”

Another reason for the site’s popularity is the ability to leave comments, invite friends and even add your own pages. “Giving people ownership and a sense of community is important to me”, says Lewis “it’s like one friend telling another a piece of good news, it just makes us all feel good.”

Some of the ideas are clever and interesting; others daring and outrageous:
One idea came about after a girl went shopping for a dress only to come home and have her partner suggest it was too short. So her friend who heard about the challenge suggested putting the site name on the butt of her dress. Her idea of a ‘silver lining’.

“The funniest so far was one guy proposing to be the “dot” in .com” laughed Lewis, “while his friends had the letters on their stomachs at the football, he made the dot with his… you get the picture”.

How Your Car Labels You

You learn new things everyday if you listen and ask...

or sometimes people just tell you :P

Was told this by the youth of today how the luxury car you drive (if you are lucky enough to have one) defines you:

Mercedes - Sorry... doesn't matter what model it's for old people to drive.

BMW - For guys it means you're a "player", for girls it means you're a "kept woman" (not my thoughts i'm just passing them on).

Audi - successful, young an hot businesswoman (guess what car my "informant" wants to drive :P)

VW - once again sorry... no matter the model it means "you're not getting any!"

Test Promotion

I haven't used powerpoint much before this but I wanted to see how it can be an effective marketing tool.

The basic idea at the beginning was to take some engaging images and link them in a way that tells a mini story.

The Famous By Morning catch phrase "It's OK to look" was the central theme and the brief I gave myself was to link two images one after the other.

Now this particular one is taking on the old theme 'sex sells'. Using images of male models in various states of dress and...well... not.

It is also a test on how well a guy can pick images of others guys that he thinks women will find attractive.... if that makes sense.

There is also the possible negative aspects or mis-interpretation of the message in that the site is about dating or an adult related theme.

Then I thought... hey what the heck, any publicity is good publicity right...

A Word To The Wise

As one gets older do things really hurt more? Do hangovers last longer and muscles ache with more vigour?

I like to think of it as when one gets wiser they comprehend and understand better the ramifications of an hour, evening or life of self abuse.

Foreward Planning Advice

If you were famous, successful, rich or a combination of them all what type of person would you be?

Would you want leave a legacy to mankind? Make an impact be it good or bad? Or would you be satisfied that you have lived a full and contented life?

or.... you could be like this:

Quote of the day "when I'm rich, i'll buy your opinion for you!"

Thursday, February 28, 2008

Famous or Satisfied?

Famous or fulfilled? Successful or satisfied? Popular or Contented? Rich or comfortable?

What is the definition of success? Does it change throughout our life stages or do we run the same routine over an over again?

This is more a message of self investigation I suppose. When you get to a stage of life and start to question direction or choices.

What makes you really happy? And is happiness enough? Or more to it, do we truly strive for contentment, joy and satisfaction...

You can buy happiness. A fancy car, a tasty meal or a exotic holiday but do these this sustain you? Do they have the ability to be in tune with your core values and belief system?

Maybe... maybe not...

How To Achieve A Goal

It is often said that a way to achieve a goal is to state it, make it real and believe in it.

I have a goal to interview a famous actor. I chose this particular actor because of his status, his work ethic, his path to Hollywood 'A' list staus that was not some overnight success.

To put it bluntly he was not 'Famous By Morning'.

So who is this actor? Well that i'm not going to say just yet but he lives close to me when not travelling the world filming major motion pictures... will keep you posted.

Why "Famous By Morning"?

why or how did I come up with the domain name http://www.famousbymorning.com/ ?

Well Famous By Morning has a number of sources:

1. While i was watching one of the 'Idol' shows where they go through the auditions. Many of the contestants would plead and beg the judges that it was there only shot at making it to singing stardom. It struck me that many people want to become famous without really working that hard at it. More for the fame and star recognition than the development of the art or themselves.

2. Youtube... watching people do all sorts crazy stunts, weird videos or some really clever stuff and getting instant worldwide recognition really made the notion of being famous "by morning" seem possible.

Below is a singer from a reality tv show that has talent, personality and skill but still struggles to break through... what is missing?

Just like Billy Crystal said in When Harry Met Sally... "Men and women can't be friends" and by the same token... men cant cuddle... they'd have to cross the line. It's in their nature.

So by all means go to a cuddle party girls, but dont be surprised when you feel 'stanley' pop in to say hello!

Or you could try the "Jagg Off"... check it out here:

Win Money... Get Famous... Simple!

Well it's a shameless self promotion for my website... i admit that. But it has the possibility of being one heck of a lot of fun!!!

This is where wild and crazy ideas that would normally not be tolerated/accepted in general society can not only be acknowledged but even better... rewarded!

I have an idea myself and it involves a guy 'mooning' the camera and he will be the 'dot' in the 'dot com' ....

Follow this link below if you want to have a crack (pardon the pun)...

OK... So He's Not "Mr. Personality"

he's a great motocross and dirt bike suspension tuner but, as a presenter for a tv program... i'll leave you to be the judge.

The first clip is about setting race sag for you dirtbike:

The next clip talks about suspension tuning. Now it is also an example of not monitoring audio when footage is being taken. I was given the tapes for this segment and asked to cut it together before the show MXtv due... THE NEXT DAY!!!!!

...so there was no chance/time to re-record audio. The only way to cover the annoying hum that couldn't be filtered out was with a music track. Makes for a complex and busy video. Check it out:
